Level 1 in Life Trauma Certification
Join us in July and August as ETC presents a new trauma workshop series with facilitator Barbara Allyn, Trauma Therapist *
The
Emotional Trauma Centre ("ETC") offers training programs that help
equip individuals and agency staff to deal confidently and
compassionately with traumatized, abused and troubled clients. The
trainings are also excellent for students in community and social
services programs.
ETC's training offers participants practical
methods to support individuals and staff members while enabling them
to better support those they serve.
This series was created to
address the impact of trauma on all of life's stages so attending all
the workshops is optimally beneficial and results in a certification
Level 1 in Life Trauma.

Workshop 3 – Friday, August 17, 2012 8:30am-3:30pm
Trauma’s Impact in Mid-Life
Many of the traumatic experiences people have as children, adolescents and early in adulthood have been blocked from their memories, like a mental sun screen, but the body faithfully remembers. Bottled up emotions that people didn't learn how to understand and genuinely feel, eventually surface, especially at middle age, in the form of confusion, anger, depression, or disease. This workshop introduces how the ‘body remembers’ and its impact on mid-life challenges and reflections.
AND
Trauma Among the Elderly
As people age, their histories may become more and more significant to them. For some of our aging population, these histories are full of terrifying, abusive experiences. How do we support aging survivors? What are the salient issues for elderly survivors? This workshop will help participants to address these questions and provide ideas about how to help elderly survivors heal and fosters loving relationships.
Some workshops are also offered via video conferencing
Registration fee: $450.00
